light polarisation

Using sunglasses is an example of polarising light.

Unpolarised light is when a light wave is vibrating in more than one plane - eg light from a light fitting or the sun.

Polarised light is when the light wave is vibrating on one plane.

Polarisation is when the light wave is transformed from unpolarised to polarised light.

There are many ways of doing this - reflection, refraction and scattering the light beams.
