Let’s look at different trends on the horizon for 2020


2020 brings neutral backdrops to pops of colour

Tactile finishes and handmade items will add  to a calm retreat from busy days. A background of sand and blues, with bright blocks of colour

SCHEME 1

CHAMPAGNE AND SILVER

The chalk and Scandi look mature with elegance.  Nature and luxury meld

Neutral textured colours  are a backdrop for artworks

and tactile pieces using textured handmade features with pops of pale toned pink or cinnamon

SCHEME 2   CITRUS WITH POPS OF BLOSSOM

A citrus backdrop with high ceilings and neutral satin curtains adds to the homeliness

A pop of fuscia or purple, dark green or desert red is added to artwork or velvet upholstery

Geometrics and square fireplaces are features

Green vertical walls, rainforest patterns in art and linen add to the individuality

SCHEME 3  NEON PINK  AND TEXTURES

Pops of hot pink with salmon and bleached timber, against  neutral grey or buff backdrop

Revivalism of old pieces of furniture and fashion become focal points

punctuate the room with 1970s disco neons and fluros

SCHEME 4    OUTBACK SKY BLUE AND RED

The bright blue sky,

with rich unfinished timbers become a sanctuary away from cold metallic computer land

Add soft corduroy covered curved furniture, including upholstered bedheads

Black matt kitchens, lightened with metallic finishes and art on the walls

Unfinished timber, individual collections  add to the retreat

SCHEME 5   SUNSET ORANGES AND PINKS

Ceramics, textile arts, and handmade  creations help with the nonconformity

Bold print wallpaper geometric walls,  and large artworks.

Organic and tactile thick wool and linen,  with real embroidery!

SCHEME 6  BEACH BLUES  WITH MINT

A backdrop of neutral greys or pale blues with blocks of bright blues and greens

Blocks of blues, lilac, greens - including mint will be everywhere!

The beach hut is bought to 2020 with rectangular  fireplaces, and geometric artworks

Art deco patterns with tactile matt silvery tin, satin painted timber floors help to create a relaxed environment.
