DESIGN - 1 POINT PERSPECTIVE

Let us go on a drawing excursion!

A PERSPECTIVE IS one form of presentation drawing - 3 Dimensional space conveyed on a 2 dimensional surface

Lines can converge to 1 point, 2 points or 3 points. This is to one point

Leonie has captured a 1 point perspective. All the vertical lines are parallel.

The eye is at the point where all converges

to draw a one point perspective place the plan at 90 degrees project the lines up and find the elevation heights. fill in the wall and doors.

Place a point at eye height in the centre of the wall. Then we project all lines away from this point.

add the verandah and columns within the lines

The verticals stay parallel, and all other lines converge to the point.

if you move the point to one side, the lines of the verandah will change.

the line of the path in Glenise's image go to one point, off centre and the verticals are parallel.

Glenise uses a one point perspective in this piece.

if the vertical lines are parallel, and all other lines go to one point, you are seeing a one point perspective.
